Memorizing and Meditating on Scripture is one of the most important spiritual discipline's God has made available to us. We want you so filled immersed in Scripture that when life cuts you, what you bleed is the Word of God. Check out this devotional from Lauren Tsao to help you toward this goal.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”

-Psalm 34:10

Some of us may question Davidʼs words because, at times, it does seem like we are lacking or in need.

Here King David is praising Godʼs goodness that for all those who call upon God in their need will be answered, sometimes in unexpected ways.

“However bottomless our desires, however deep our wishes, however high our aspirations, all things meet in this promise, ‘They that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.ʼ” (Spurgeon)

When we are seeking God by meeting Him in scripture and prayer, we find that we can be fully satisfied in Him. To have God is to have all we really need.

But sometimes God allows us to go without to help us grow more dependent on Him. He wants us to learn that we need Him more than we need to obtain our immediate desires. I recently experienced a season of loss that had me questioning whether God had my good in mind and even left me quite bitter. I asked Him many “whyʼs” and “what ifʼs”.

Through the process of talking to God I found peace knowing that I am heard, cared for, and loved as I am. He knew the pain and grief I was experiencing because he experienced it Himself. The psalms were also a great comfort in reading the psalmistsʼ prayers in lament and heartache. God used hard moments to bring peace and restoration and show me that he is ever dependable and trustworthy.

“I know that even when Iʼm feeling lost at sea Your mighty hand still reaches out for me. Through every season of life, Youʼre my Provider.” - “Provider”, Rivers & Robots. Those who seek the LORD lack no good thing because everything we need can be found in Him. He provides strength when we are weak.

Our faith is strengthened when we are after His heart. Our love for Jesus grows when we pursue Him. Seek the Lord and you will find that He is truly enough.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.”
