It Starts at Home

For better or worse, the home is the primary context for spiritual formation. Below you will find a six-part video series that we have made available to you. We invite you to go through these videos by yourself or with your spouse and take time to talk about how you can take steps to make your home more God-honoring, either in your marriage or as parents.

Each Bible Study session includes interviews with parents talking about their own doubts and fears as well as powerful teaching to equip and inspire you from Kurt and Olivia Bruner, Gary Thomas, and Matt Chandler. The six-part video-driven series is available for streaming below.

It Starts at Home

This is a series about marriage, parenting and grandparenting. It’s about family and the habits and values we pass down to the next generation. In this first session, we’re focusing on the ways we pass on a legacy of faith in Christ.

Your Children are Watching

Your children see you 24/7. They see the everyday reality. Good Christian parenting and grandparenting is not something you “put on” after going to a seminar (or even taking a class like this); it comes down to core values. Your kids need to see the authentic reality of Christ in your life.

Relationships: Your First Priority

Sometimes the onslaught of information in our culture can deafen us to what’s more important—relationships. Knowing who they are, what they think, what they love, what they’re good at, how they’re connecting with God is what we’re focusing on in this session.

What Are Your Kids Learning?

In this session, we’ll be considering the importance of Truth in our family lives. How can you teach your kids and grandkids the way things really are? We’ll consider what we call the “Lenses Principle.” It comes down to what kind of lenses you’re looking through.

Each Child is Unique

Clear and consistent communication is one of the great priorities for parents and grandparents. In this session, we’ll consider communication, and specifically the unique ways you’ll need to “speak the language” of each unique child.

Preparing Your Kids for the Real World

There’s a world of people there, and God asks us to treat them all with his love because every person is made in the image of God and has dignity, value and worth. How can we do that? And, more to the point of this class, how can we teach our kids and grandkids to do that?

Idea Cards

Idea cards are designed to give couples and families one idea they can easily implement to become more intentional about date night or engaging their children and grandchildren with the Gospel. Consider these ideas to implement as you walk through this study.
