When astronauts go into orbit and see the Earth from space for the first time, they all experience the same extraordinary phenomenon. Being able to see Earth gently hanging in the black void of space as a pale, blue dot changes everything. They call this experience the Overview Effect.
The book of Colossians gives us a similar Overview Effect that dramatically alters our own perspective. Rather than looking down at the pale, blue dot of Earth however, Colossians beckons us to look up at the glorious, supremacy of Jesus Christ and see that He is Lord of all things.
And when we see the paradigm-altering view of Jesus Christ, everything changes.
